Modest swimsuits
Wednesday, May 27, 2009
It's that time of year again, the time when you search high and low looking for a swimsuit that is decent and modest. I've quite shopping for swimsuits at department stores because the stores mainly have "swimsuits" that I would hardly consider to be undergarments. A few years ago ordered a tankini (don't let the word "tankini" scare you, it's very modest) from Land's End and have continued to purchase swimsuits from the company ever since. While modest swimsuits cost a bit more than immodest and flimsy suits, the cost is worth it. Modesty is always worth a little extra money and I am hoping that none of you will compromise price for modesty. Below are a few companies that sell modest swimsuits. Please note that I wouldn't personally wear each swimsuit offered by each company, I am simply listing a few sites where there are some swimsuits I would feel comfortable wearing.
Lands End: The swimsuits are very good quality and have excellent support, I also like the fact that they sell mix and match swim bottoms which includes shorts and skirts.
Note: Lands End frequently has free shipping and if you don't like the item, you can return it to any Sears store for free!
Lime Ricki- for the latest hip and fun (modest) swimwear
Note: the prices on this site seem reasonable
Divinita Sole
Note: they have lots of mix and match options
P.S. Check back later this week for the beginning of a summer modesty series I am doing.

Hi! Nice blog :)
Thank you so much for stopping by mine!
I know how hard it is to find modest swimwear. I don't really even like wearing the 'modest' ones in public though, still looking for one like that. (I suppose an old dress would be comfortable in public!) :)

I know! Isn't it so hard? This year I went all out and got Christa's swimsuit for Christa-taylor.com. It is very modest and I know I won't feel self conscious.
I ordered a tankini from Land's End as well. I'm so glad that there are other people out there who value modesty as much as I do. Thanks for your post!
Thank you for commenting on my blog! If you have any questions or want to go, just let me know! It is a great camp.!
It's coincidental that you post this now: in the last twenty four hours, I've done two Googles on modest swimsuits, and I've looked at dozens of them. I think you've picked the best ones here.
It IS so hard to find a a modest swimsuite, these days, at a modest price! If I have to buy a modest swimsuite, that's a little more expensive, then I'll pay that little extra money! ( : ( : ( : ( : ( : $$$$$$$$$$$$
On Monday night my younger sister Grace and I spent all afternoon/evening searching for a modest swimsuit for her for camp. We finally found one that is very, very cute and fits her great! So, I really appreciate this post! I'm still looking for one. (I'm little bit longer waisted than Gracie! :D) Anyway, thanks!

Thanks for the ideas! I think bathing suits sometimes end up looking immodest simply because the sizing is weird. It fits me in one area and not in another, if you know what I mean. It's great to find stores that are consistent or offer different cuts for different body types.
I've never let my girls wear a two piece even when they were little. We really like the Landsend suits and love that they have matching shirts and shorts to go with them. We always spend the money and get those. My girls are very modest at 7, 10, and 12. They wear lots of dresses but are not comfortable unless they have some leggings, capri leggings or bike shorts underneath them.
I love Lands End swimsuits. I got one last year and it has been great. I'll have to check out some of those other sites.
