It is Appalling

If they were alive today and were able to witness this step toward socialized medicine, our Founding Father's would be appalled and saddened to see that our government no longer cares to postpone business until after the Lord's day. In my view, the President's lack of respect for Sunday and his evident disregard for our Biblical moorings presents to us the state of our Nation.
"A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."
-Thomas Jefferson
It is with a sinking heart that I find Thomas Jefferson's words to be timely and true. We have come to expect the government to take care of us, we have let things go unchallenged that should have been challenged, and we have come so far that our government conducts its business on Sunday; truly God must be disappointed. If you are a Christian and you are not bothered that our President would attempt to pass legislation on a Sunday then I think it is time you evaluated some things in your life to see if value you this day as you should. Pray, pray that God would open our eyes to what we have been overlooking. Oh that we would see how far we have come and would turn again to Jesus who is the only one who can heal us economically, physically, and spiritually.
Please share your thoughts as to whether or not you think it is wrong or right for the government to vote on legislation on a Sunday.

I'm Canadian, so I don't know all the ins and outs of the new Health Care thing that Mr. Obama is pushing, but it did sadden me to read that they were voting on Sunday. Is that something they usually do? (Just wondering) I mean, it's Sunday! I thought it was a universal day off for people, whether they are religious or not... I definitely don't think it's right, or very God honouring at all.

I am disappointed too, not only in the bill that passed, but also that they did it on a Sunday. I was thinking the other day how it was only until maybe the last century that people have come to totally ignore the fourth commandment, saying that it was "only for the Old Testament." It is still the Lord's Day, and we should honor it.
It is so sad to see how far our nation has turned from God.
It is truly one of the saddest things in our time - the downfall of America. It's coming sure enough, it is just a matter of time. We have heaped far too much blood upon our hands as a nation, and God's grace and mercy extend only so far before we must pay for our actions. The government has already stolen everything that made America, America. All we have now, is this facade of freedom that we still like to sing about and tell ourselves is true. The reality has not yet hit us, but I believe it will painfully soon. But in that time, I believe that many who claim Christianity as their faith will fall away, and the chaff shall be seperated from the wheat.
It is indeed a terrible thing, both the bill that was passed, just one more in a long line of stones tied to the sinking ship of America as a free nation, and the fact that it was passed on a Sunday.
God help us all. Let us not be among those that are deceived and fall away.
